    On October 27, 2022, we invited the design community to “come fly with us” at the Honolulu Design Center’s Cupola Gallery for HiConnect—our signature commercial design showcase.

    Guests received their boarding passes and embarked on a global-inspired evening of connection, exploring dozens of vendor and manufacturer displays, enjoying great food and drinks, and mingling with fellow designers, architects, and specifiers. With vibrant energy throughout the evening, HiConnect once again highlighted the strength and creativity of our community.

    We are grateful to our vendors, manufacturers, and chapter sponsors for making this event possible, and to everyone who joined us for a night of design inspiration and networking.

    Mahalo for flying with us—we look forward to welcoming you on board again next year!

    2022 Membership Appreciation & Drive

    On October 13, 2022, we gathered at The Modern Honolulu to celebrate our incredible IIDA Hawai‘i Pacific Chapter community. Members and guests enjoyed an evening of reconnection, refreshments, pūpūs, and prizes—all in appreciation of the designers, partners, and supporters who make our chapter thrive.

    The night was filled with energy and networking as colleagues and friends came together to strengthen our design community. One lucky member even walked away with a grand prize: a trip to NeoCon, HD, or BDNY in 2023!

    Mahalo to everyone who joined us and helped make this celebration so memorable. We look forward to building an even stronger chapter with you in the years to come.

    The IIDA Hawai‘i Pacific Chapter’s 2021 Ho‘ohuli Awards were featured in Hawaii Business Magazine, spotlighting exceptional commercial interior design projects across Hawai‘i. The coverage highlights how local designers create transformative spaces that support the ways our communities live, work, and gather.

    The Ho‘ohuli Awards, Hawai‘i’s only commercial interior design awards program, are held biennially to recognize outstanding and original design work in the state. In 2021, winners were announced in a virtual presentation on October 21, reflecting the resilience and creativity of our design community during a time of significant change. Rooted in the Hawaiian concept of ho‘ohuli—to change—the awards celebrate projects that elevate the built environment while honoring our islands’ unique culture and sense of place.

    We are honored that Hawaii Business Magazine helped share the story of our 2021 Ho‘ohuli Award winners and the impact of commercial interior design in Hawai‘i.
