Senior Interior Designer

G70 is looking for a Senior Interior Designer to join its team. In this role, a typical day may involve:

  • Communicating with clients on design intent and progress
  • Programming and space planning
  • Working alongside architects, engineers, consultants and other team members to find the best design solution to meet the client’s needs
  • Development of color and materials palette
  • Preparing and reviewing construction documents
  • Keeping up to date with products by attending manufacturer representative meetings

YOU’VE GOT…

  • A Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or Interior Architecture
  • At least eight years of practical work experience in the field
  • Proficiency in using the following software programs – AutoCAD, Revit, Microsoft Office, Adobe Photoshop, and Adobe InDesign

AutoCAD/Revit Drafter

Philpotts Interiors is a Hawaii based interior design firm with an exciting portfolio of projects ranging from high end residential, hospitality, commercial/office to healthcare facilities. We are seeking an experienced AutoCAD / REVIT Drafter to work with designers and project managers. Must have good knowledge of the latest AutoCAD /REVIT programs, a positive attitude and ability to communicate with others.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Reading and understanding specifications, mechanical drawings, blueprints and sketches
  • Specifying dimensions, materials and procedures
  • Understanding materials strengths and specify material gauges on drawings
  • Understanding and being able to explain design concepts with other designers/drafters
  • Effectively communicate and share information with colleagues as part of the design process
  • Proficient in REVIT
  • Experience in producing complete sets

Senior Interior Designer

Philpotts Interiors is a Hawaii based interior design firm with an exciting portfolio of projects ranging from high end residential, hospitality, commercial/office to healthcare facilities. We are seeking an experienced Senior Interior Designer.

Summary of Position: The Senior Designer is responsible for designing, interpreting, and coordinating large scope complex design projects through all phases of design development. This individual demonstrates creativity, foresight, and maturity in design judgment when anticipating and solving design complexities. This position provides design direction, oversees design presentations, monitors project design development and support to ensure consistent and high-quality design firm wide. This position is responsible for establishing client relationships, directing and monitoring all design activities. The Senior Designer should have extensive experience in all phases of design, including substantial experience in Design management. The Senior Designer is expected to demonstrate professionalism, high standards and sound judgment. It is essential to pass your knowledge to others and support a continuous learning environment. Team building and motivation are also key responsibilities.

Additional responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Provides leadership for entire design process to ensure design continuity
  • Creates, develops and implements project design concepts
  • Establishes and maintains ongoing, positive and productive client relationships
  • Assures design conforms to contractual agreement with client
  • Assures that project needs are satisfied by effectively managing design staff to ensure efficient utilization of resources
  • Understands and implements processes to reduce risks and exposure
  • Monitors initial design through completion of project
  • Effectively and proactively coaches, mentors and provides performance enhancing feedback to team members
  • Will perform other project duties as assigned by Principal Designers

Minimum Requirements

  • Degree in Interior Design
  • Extensive years of experience in designing large projects including hospitality and high end residential
  • Client management skills
  • Strong sketching skills
  • Project management and negotiation experience
  • Leadership experience
  • Must be able to manage multiple project priorities while consistently achieving high standards and goals
  • Proven experience in motivating and inspiring others is essential
  • Excellent presentation skills
  • Travel is required

Interior Architectural Designer

Philpotts Interiors is a Hawaii based interior design firm with an exciting portfolio of projects ranging from high end residential, hospitality, commercial/office to healthcare facilities. We are seeking an experienced Interior Architectural Designer.

The responsibilities of this position include, but are not limited to:

  • Providing technical leadership during project delivery
  • Knowledge of local building codes and the permitting process
  • Ability to work with multiple project teams and on multiple projects at the same time
  • Experience in the preparation of construction documents for both new and renovation projects
  • Ability to coordinate related architectural disciplines during project delivery.
  • Knowledge and experience of project administration during construction phase
  • Performing basic architectural calculations
  • Preparing specifications, reports and related data tables
  • Maintaining liaison with design and drafting groups
  • Preparing, reviewing, and approving drawings as required
  • Under the direction of the Supervising Architectural Designer, may independently perform advanced technical assignments of various complexities within approved schedules and budgets
  • May coordinate technical and administrative activities with employees in other disciplines and other departments participating on an assigned project
  • May assist in the training and evaluation of assigned architectural and design/drafting personnel

Minimum Requirements

  • Bachelor’s degree in Architecture or related field
  • 4+ years of related experience
  • Proficient in Revit and CAD
  • Experience in all phases of project delivery, from schematic design through construction documents
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced work environment
  • Excellent teamwork and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

  • 5+ years of relevant experience

Adjunct Instructor

The Chaminade University Environmental + Interior Design program is seeking an instructor for its EID 202 Introduction to Technical Drawing course for the Fall 2019 semester. Candidate must be an excellent communicator with experience in generating construction documentation. Master’s degree preferred; Bachelor’s degree with sufficient work experience/expertise is a minimum requirement.

This course is currently scheduled to meet Mon-Wed-Fri 10:30 a.m. – 12:20 p.m.; an evening offering can be considered. Fall semester runs mid-August to mid-December.
